In January we provided snacks and drinks for a Goldman-Sachs event a Dartmouth College. There was a big Chinese New Year Party for 200 people in the Upper Valley to usher in the Year of the Dragon for which Banana Leaf was pleased to provide a portion of the festivities! A few other small events rounded out our month. Pictured above are our new dessert offerings!!!

<![CDATA[CELEBRATION!! at Counseling Associates of New London]]>Tue, 13 Dec 2011 13:22:23 GMThttp://bananaleafcatering.com/1/post/2011/12/celebration-at-counseling-associates-of-new-london.htmlPicture
The New London office for the Counseling Associates was transformed for a night of celebration and we had such fun adding sparkle and fun to the lobby and waiting areas. Therapists and their families from the Newport and Claremont offices joined their New London associates for a Banana Leaf treat- something a little different for the group! This event called for gluten-free dishes as one of the guests was gluten-intolerant. We checked to make sure that at least 6 of the entrees we were serving were gluten-free and used Tamari soy sauce (100% soy) in place of regular soy sauce which contains wheat. Everyone had a great time!
I LOVE this time of year when people take a little time to show their appreciation for those around them!!

<![CDATA[GlycoFi Holiday Party for 70]]>Mon, 05 Dec 2011 03:08:38 GMThttp://bananaleafcatering.com/1/post/2011/12/glycofi-holiday-party.html
GlycoFi (Merck) is a biotherapeutics company with a serious mission. But last Friday night, the only items on the agenda were Fun and Food. Their hard-working employees were treated to a spread of Banana Leaf specialties including Hunan Eggplant with Spicy Meat Sauce, Green Curry Chicken, Fried Meehoon, Dragon Noodles, Summer Rolls, Sushi, Grilled Wings, Cookies, and Tapioca Pearls in Coconut sweet soup. There are quite a few vegetarians in the group and so we served our vegetarian version of Fried Meehoon, with plenty of shiitake mushrooms and colorful crisp vegetables. Everyone was also treated to a stand-up act and classical guitar pieces by one of their own multi-talented scientists. This party was a lot of fun for me!

<![CDATA[Sarah's Birthday Party on the night of the Snowtober Blizzard]]>Sun, 30 Oct 2011 14:58:42 GMThttp://bananaleafcatering.com/1/post/2011/10/sarahs-birthday-party-on-the-night-of-the-snowtober-blizzard.htmlIt was a night to remember! A rare blizzard in October, guests navigating snow-covered roads from MA, grilling sates in the snowstorm, and a foot of white stuff on the ground this morning. Sarah's guests braved the slick roads for her big day and the turnout was great. Banana Leaf really enjoyed the experience with this warm and friendly group. What to do on a snowy night? Why not eat when you've got Summer Rolls, Sates, Salmon Cakes, Wings, Fried Meehoon, Bok Choy Salad, Beef Rendang, Green Curry Chicken, and Ma Po Tofu. And of course Coconut Pineapple Cake with cream cheese icing. I'm really glad we got the snow tires on early this year!

<![CDATA[Asian Style Stir Fried Lobster!]]>Sun, 23 Oct 2011 11:29:52 GMThttp://bananaleafcatering.com/1/post/2011/10/asian-style-stir-fried-lobster.htmlI miss the famous stir fried crabs of Malaysia but fresh meaty crabs are hard to come by in New Hampshire.
However, another crustacean fits the bill nicely- Lobster!
Presenting Black Pepper Lobster (picture below) and Chile Lobster........ the best part is the sauce that goes so well over rice and I do so love working to get the meat out of all the nooks and crannies. It's finger licking good!

<![CDATA[Birthday Dinner for 13 Gals!]]>Fri, 14 Oct 2011 11:26:42 GMThttp://bananaleafcatering.com/1/post/2011/10/birthday-dinner-for-13-gals.htmlKaren turned 40 and her girlfriends gave her a day to remember. I was psyched to hear the plan for the special day which started out with surprising Karen at her home (her husband and 4 kids including 1-yr old twins were in on it!) and asking her to pack an overnight bag. A few minutes drive to the home of her sister where a yoga instructor was waiting to lead a class. Later, in the day, massages for the ladies followed by a nature hike and to top it off- Banana Leaf! I forgot my camera and didn't capture any images but the ladies loved the food and they said it capped off their wonderful day perfectly! I thought it was a such a wonderful fun birthday plan- I would have loved a surprise like that myself when I had turned 40--- but that was a while ago!!

It was a warm inviting event on the evening when a cold front blew into New London! Click ONCE on first picture to magnify it and bring up a slide show!
